Sample's of my teaching practice:
Please find samples and reflections on evidence of my teaching practice under the tabs at the top of this page.
You will find three samples of work;
1. Smartphones for learning: A sample of how I incorporated the use of the smartphone application, 'Socrative' for teaching and learning purposes.
2. A lesson plan for a practical activity I completed with a year 10 class. We modeled Natural Selection using different 'beak' types (in the form of straws, paddle pop sticks, chop sticks and spoons) to act as birds competing for a food source (jelly beans). The surviving birds "reproduced" and passed their characteristics onto the next generation. Students gained an appreciation of competition and survival of the fittest from this lesson.
3. A unit of work called, "Desert Digging." I wrote this 6 week unit of work for a students living in the outback town, Broken Hill. The unit is contextualised and aims to create relevant links to students knowledge and background as they discover the 'science' side of their unique town.
